The Ministry of Health of El Salvador confirms the second dengue-related death of 2016, which occurred between epidemiological weeks 27 and 28 (July 5-18).
Suspected cases have exceeded 140 per week, with 107 in week 26, 121 in week 27, and 142 in week 28. Twenty-six positive cases have been confirmed this year. The 10-19 age group is the most affected with 899 suspected cases, followed by the 5-9 age group with 715. Surveillance continues for chikungunya (12 cases this year) and Zika (27 suspected cases this year).
