The dengue epidemic continues in Martinique, with surveillance indicators that remain at high levels and with serotype 2, against which the population has little immunity. Since the start of the epidemic at the end of July 2023, it is estimated that more than 18,480 people have consulted primary care doctors. As of April 25, 30 serious cases have been hospitalized and 9 deaths have been reported.
Due to the significant rainfall that Martinique has experienced in recent weeks, dengue now affects 27 municipalities.
