New Case of Locally Transmitted Dengue in Florida, USA

The Florida Department of Health reported a new locally transmitted dengue case in Miami-Dade County last week, bringing the total number of locally transmitted dengue cases to 18 across the counties of Hillsborough (2), Miami-Dade (12), Monroe (3), and Pasco. Eleven of these cases have been serotyped as DENV-3, four as DENV-1, and three remain unknown.

A total of 319 travel-associated dengue cases have been identified so far this year across 29 counties, with the majority in Miami-Dade County (138) and Broward County (47).
