In recent years, dengue cases in Mexico have expanded significantly. In 2009, cases were reported only in Oaxaca and Chiapas, but today, cases have been detected in almost the entire country.
As of epidemiological week 32 in 2024, 33,957 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in Mexico, a figure much higher than the 9,397 cases recorded in week 32 of 2023. The state with the most cases is Colima, and the most affected age groups are those between 4 and 45 years old.
The epidemiological map of Mexico, up to week 31, shows only Chihuahua, Mexico City, Baja California, and Tlaxcala as states without reported cases. Cases have been observed in the rest of the country.
