The Honduran Ministry of Health is investigating the possible first dengue-related death of 2026, awaiting laboratory results to confirm or rule out the cause of death of a 22-year-old woman.
There are 3,935 suspected cases and 67 severe cases. Tegucigalpa leads with nearly 1,000 suspected cases, followed by Choluteca, Yoro, Colón, and Olancho. The increase is attributed to the rainy season and the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
