The number of dengue cases in Sri Lanka has risen to 78,125 so far this year. Yesterday, 1,097 new cases were reported. May saw 8,590 cases, June 21,535, and the first 21 days of July 22,749. There have been 56 dengue-related deaths, with a case fatality rate of 0.07%.
The Western Province leads with 41,236 cases (52.78%), followed by the Southern Province with 11,950 (15.30%) and the Central Province with 6,603 (8.45%).
