Paraguay has not registered any new cases of dengue for three consecutive weeks (epidemiological weeks 32 to 34), maintaining the year-to-date total at 293 cases. No hospitalizations or deaths were reported either. Chikungunya also shows no new cases, with a year-to-date total of 19 diagnoses, three of which were imported from Bolivia. Despite the low viral circulation, authorities warn of the risk of dengue reintroduction due to the presence of the Aedes aegypti mosquito and the upcoming rainy season, urging the population to reinforce prevention measures and eliminate breeding sites.
