Costa Rica has reported a 33.5% increase in dengue cases as of July 31, 2016. A total of 2,821 cases have been registered (1,916 confirmed), a 24% increase in confirmed cases compared to the same period of the previous year. Serotypes 1, 2, and 3 of the virus are circulating. No deaths have been reported.
The North Central region has 781 cases, and the Central Pacific region has the highest rate (192.3 per 100,000 inhabitants).
