The Pacific Syndromic Surveillance System (PSSS) reports 7,285 cases of dengue-like illness (DLI) to date, with a downward trend compared to the previous year. Outbreaks were declared in New Caledonia and Tonga in 2026.
The most affected countries are the Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Samoa, and New Caledonia, accounting for 94% of confirmed cases. DENV-1 and DENV-2 serotypes are circulating.
The Cook Islands declared the end of its outbreak on May 25, 2026. As of June 12, 2026, dengue remains active in New Caledonia, Samoa, and Tonga. Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna are under surveillance.
There are no recent reports from American Samoa, Kiribati, or Tuvalu.
