Health authorities in French Polynesia have confirmed 14 new cases of dengue (46 samples analyzed) in epidemiological week 41. Seven were residents of Tahiti, two were residents of Moorea, two were residents of Ua Pou (Marquesas Islands), and one was a resident of Fakarava (Tuamotu Archipelago).
There is no travel history for the cases in Ua Pou and Fakarava, suggesting that the virus is circulating locally on these islands.
The total number of reported cases is 188 (173 confirmed cases and 15 probable cases) since November 27, 2023. No severe cases have been recorded.
