The simultaneous circulation of three serotypes of the virus (DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4) has been confirmed, increasing the risk of severe forms.
Authorities have identified the highest risk in Havana, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Ciego de Ávila, Santiago de Cuba, and Guantánamo. In Pinar del Río, febrile syndromes increased by 17.8% in the last week, with the largest increases in San Luis, San Juan y Martínez, Guane, Pinar del Río, and Mantua.
