From the start of the 2025-2026 season through epidemiological week 27, Argentina reported 27,571 suspected cases of dengue, of which 69 were laboratory-confirmed.
The circulation of serotypes DENV-1, DENV-2, and DENV-3 was detected. Fifty-five percent of the confirmed cases had no history of travel, indicating local transmission in various parts of the country.
Autochthonous cases were reported primarily in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, and Formosa. The Autonomous City of Buenos Aires had the highest number of confirmed cases, with 31, followed by the Province of Buenos Aires, with 16.
Cases associated with travel to countries such as Brazil, Paraguay, Mexico, Bolivia, Indonesia, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia were also reported. The median age of those affected was 41 years, and 58% were male. Of the 69 confirmed cases, 68 recovered and 13 required hospitalization, with no admissions to intensive care. One death was reported in a 50-year-old patient with chronic illnesses.
It is recommended to maintain preventive measures against mosquito bites, eliminate containers with standing water, and seek medical attention if fever, muscle pain, headache, rash, or other warning signs develop.
