The downward trend in dengue cases in the Dominican Republic has been reversed, surpassing 2015 records with 153 confirmed cases as of June 27.
Thirty-five cases were registered in the last four weeks. The most affected age group is 10 to 19 years, with a predominance in males. Serotype D2 is the most frequent.
Regionally, the Americas have surpassed 1.2 million suspected cases, with 337,014 confirmed and 305 deaths. Despite an overall reduction compared to 2015, 15 countries report circulation of serotypes, including the four serotypes in Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela.
