Garissa reported 1,583 cases since April 2026, with five suspected deaths. In Wajir, 96 cases were reported across five subcounties. While transmission in Garissa appeared to be decreasing in July, active transmission continued in Wajir. Dengue, transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, is now affecting arid and semi-arid regions of Kenya, extending beyond the coast.
