Sixteen additional locally acquired cases of dengue were reported in Florida during the week of August 15, bringing the year-to-date total to 23.
These cases are distributed across Hillsborough (15), Miami-Dade (4), Palm Beach (3), and Pinellas (3) counties. The majority (20) are of the DENV-2 serotype.
An additional 21 cases of travel-associated dengue were also reported, raising the total to 86. These cases were reported in several counties, including Broward (11), Miami-Dade (45), and Palm Beach (6). Two cases involved residents outside of Florida.
