Malaysia has recorded over 38,000 cases of dengue fever in the first half of 2026, with a significant shift in virus transmission due to the predominance of the DENV-3 strain.
As of June 27, a total of 38,842 cases had been reported, with an average of 310 new cases reported daily.
Selangor is the most affected region with 17,701 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 7,191 and Johor with 4,591.
