Mexico‘s Ministry of Health reports a total of 3,494 confirmed cases of dengue fever and seven deaths so far in 2016. Seventy-five percent of the infections are concentrated in Sonora, Veracruz, Tabasco, Sinaloa, and Baja California Sur. Colima, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, and Zacatecas report no cases. Veracruz and Michoacán have registered two and one death, respectively, as have Oaxaca, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, and Tabasco.
The case fatality rate has decreased to 0.36% compared to the previous year.
