Eighteen deaths and approximately 5,000 cases of dengue fever have been reported in areas controlled by the Yemeni government since the beginning of the year.
Most of the deaths occurred in Aden Governorate (12 cases), followed by the Hadramout Coast (3 cases). Aden also leads in the number of cases with 1,243, followed by the Hadramout Coast with 1,006.
Last year, government-controlled areas recorded more than 12,416 confirmed cases and 59 deaths.
