Sri Lanka has recorded 85,364 cases of dengue fever and 62 deaths as of July 31, 2016, with a case fatality rate of 0.07%. July saw the highest incidence (29,990 cases), followed by June (21,533).
The Western Province accounts for 52.9% of cases, with the districts of Gampaha (18,093) and Colombo (16,926) having the highest numbers. There are 137 high-risk health areas. Travelers are advised to take extra precautions against mosquito bites.
