In epidemiological week 34 (August 17-23, 2026), Samoa recorded 17 new cases of dengue, an 11% decrease compared to the previous week. One case was confirmed by laboratory testing, with no new hospitalizations, ICU admissions, or deaths. Since January 1, 2025, there have been a cumulative total of 20,193 clinical diagnoses, 5,537 confirmed cases, and nine deaths. The circulating serotypes are DENV-1 (52%) and DENV-2 (48%). 73% of cases affected children under 15 years of age, and 92% were concentrated in Upolu. The blue alert remains in effect.
