Since epidemiological week 1-25, 1,583 suspected cases and five deaths from dengue fever have been reported in Garissa County, Kenya. Eighty percent of the cases are in people under 40 years of age.
The Ministry of Health has activated the national public health emergency operations center to coordinate the response, including case management, enhanced surveillance, sample analysis, and community awareness.
