More than 40 cases of locally acquired dengue fever have been reported in Florida, with more than 30 cases in the Tampa Bay area. Hillsborough County has 30 cases, Miami-Dade County seven, Pinellas County three, and Palm Beach County one. Ten mosquito breeding sites in Hillsborough County have also tested positive for the dengue virus. The Florida Department of Health has issued alerts and advisories in the affected counties.
