The Ministry of Health of El Salvador reports a 69% decrease in suspected dengue cases in recent months. As of Epidemiological Week 23, 2,208 suspected cases had been reported nationwide, affecting 11 municipalities, half of them in the capital. Children under nine years old are the most affected age group. Sixteen cases have been confirmed by laboratory testing, and 18 patients have been discharged from the hospital due to complications; no deaths have been reported. Dengue serotype 3, associated with severe cases, is currently circulating.
