Sancti Spíritus has registered five consecutive weeks of increased suspected dengue cases, especially in Trinidad and the provincial capital, with a rise in Aedes aegypti mosquito breeding sites.
Epidemiological surveillance has been strengthened, and fumigation and targeted treatment efforts have been intensified in high-risk areas. Although no active transmission has been reported, conditions exist for the emergence of cases. International travelers are being monitored, and cases of nonspecific febrile syndromes have been reported.
