Costa Rica registered a 6% increase in dengue cases for epidemiological week 27 of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025.
A total of 1,875 cases were reported, 109 more than the previous year. The Central Pacific region leads with 467 reported cases. At the provincial level, Alajuela had 680 cases. The most affected cantons were Orotina (224 cases), Alajuela (182), Puntarenas (115), Grecia (107), and San José (40). Thirty-four people were reported with warning signs.
