Health authorities in the Philippines have reported a total of 67,874 dengue cases, including 189 deaths, between January 1 and May 25 of this year. Notification numbers decreased during the last two weeks of May.
The onset of the rainy season may serve as a breeding ground for the multiplication of mosquitoes, potentially leading to an increase in cases.
