Taiwan’s health authorities have reported a total of 166 locally acquired dengue cases in the country as of June 12, 2024.
The most affected areas are Kaohsiung City (137 cases), Tainan City (19), Pingtung (9), and Chiayi County (1).
Two of the cases were classified as severe.
Additionally, 104 imported cases have been reported, a number higher than the average for the years 2020-2023 (3 to 55 cases). Indonesia is the main source of imported cases (55 cases), followed by Malaysia (18) and the Maldives (9).
