Dengue in Medellín, Colombia

Alert in Medellín, Colombia, due to over 1,000% increase in dengue cases in recent weeks compared to the previous year.

The situation has worsened since April this year when the alert was declared, with an average of about 170 new infections per week.

Eight hotspots with the highest number of cases have been identified: Belén Aguas Frías, Belén Rincón, Caicedo, Popular, El Socorro, San Cristóbal, San Javier, and Andalucía. All of them are spreading towards neighboring areas.
