Health authorities in Mali have reported 145 new cases of dengue (51 confirmed and 94 suspected) since November 22 in five regions of the country. No deaths have been reported.
So far this year, 8,909 cases (1,280 confirmed and 7,629 suspected) and 12 deaths (CFR 0.1%) have been reported across the country’s nine regions.
The Bamako region accounts for 90% of the cases, making it the epicenter of the epidemic. Two serotypes (DENV1 and DENV3) have been detected among confirmed cases.
The ongoing outbreak began in August 2023.
