Since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20) until November 30, 875 cases of dengue have been diagnosed in the country, according to the Ministry of Health.
The total number of locally acquired dengue cases in Iran has risen to 677, with 666 cases reported in Chabahar, located in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, and 11 in Bandar Lengeh, in the southern province of Hormozgan.
Six dengue patients, infected in Chabahar, were diagnosed in other cities, including Isfahan, Shahr-e Kord, Meshkinshahr, and Iranshahr.
So far, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes have been recorded in the provinces of Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Bushehr, Gilan, Mazandaran, Ardebil, Zanjan, Qazvin, and East Azerbaijan. Among them, Aedes aegypti is more invasive and more common in Iran.
