Health authorities in Honduras have declared a state of emergency at the onset of the high dengue season in the country. There has been an increase in cases across all departments of the country, as well as in the number of hospitalizations.
The country has reported 23,037 suspected cases of dengue in the first 20 weeks of the year. Additionally, 10 deaths have been reported.
The government has instructed health authorities to take all necessary measures, including prevention and control actions, and to seek funding to manage the outbreak.
