Dengue in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Health authorities in Vietnam have reported a sustained increase in dengue cases in Ho Chi Minh City over the past 10 weeks, with higher numbers recorded in the southern region. One death has been reported.

Last week, nearly 700 cases were registered in the city, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of 2024 to over 12,000, accounting for 25% of the total cases in the southern region. Although the number of cases is lower than in the same period in 2023, it is currently on an upward trend.

Dengue outbreaks often occur during the rainy season, which lasts from early July to November each year.
