Dengue in Gandaki, Nepal

Health authorities in Nepal have reported 8 deaths from dengue in Gandaki Province, with 18,339 cases recorded over the past 10 months.

During this period, the highest number of dengue cases, 8,979, was reported in Kaski, while the lowest number, six, was recorded in Manang district of the province. In Pokhara Metropolitan City, the provincial capital, 8,858 dengue cases have been confirmed.

The first dengue victim was a 48-year-old man from Tanahun who died on July 25, 2024. Since then, a 40-year-old man succumbed to dengue on August 6, and a 52-year-old woman died on August 15 in Kaski. Additionally, a 61-year-old man passed away in Myagdi on September 4. Similarly, four women, aged 81, 70, 75, and 26, died of dengue in Kaski on September 6, September 18, September 30, and October 20, respectively.
