Health authorities in Cape Verde have reported 30,765 cases of dengue (12,120 confirmed, 3 probable, and 19,285 suspected) and 3 deaths (CFR 0.01%) since June 21 of this year, across the country’s 9 islands.
The island of Santiago accounts for 82% of the cases. Two serotypes have been identified (DENV1 and DENV3).
This is a continuation of the outbreak that began in the country in November 2023.
