Dengue in Cape Verde: 43,597 Cases!

Cape Verde health authorities have reported 8,367 new cases of dengue (3,493 confirmed and 4,874 suspected) and 3 additional deaths since November 15, 2024. Cases have been recorded across all the islands of the archipelago.

In total, 43,597 cases (17,630 confirmed) and 8 deaths (CFR: 0.02%) have been reported this year.

The island of Santiago accounts for 82% of the cases and 60% of the deaths. Two serotypes, DEN1 and DEN3, are circulating. The outbreak began in November 2023.
