Dengue in Cagayan, Philippines

Philippine health authorities have reported 1,678 cases of dengue from January 1 to August 26 of this year in the province of Cagayan.

The majority of these cases were reported in the city of Lasam with 225 cases, Tuguegarao City with 184, followed by Aparri with 147 cases, Abulug with 135, and Gattaran with 117.

Close surveillance and on-site inspections have been intensified in various cities of Cagayan to ensure that mosquito breeding grounds, which transmit the dengue virus, are cleaned to prevent the spread of the disease.
