Health authorities in Burkina Faso have reported an additional 5,401 dengue cases (1,503 probable and 3,898 suspected) since the beginning of November, including four new deaths.
This brings the total number of reported cases this year to 84,123 and 88 deaths across the country’s 13 regions since the start of the year.
Among laboratory-confirmed cases, two serotypes have been detected: DENV-1 and DENV-3.
Across Africa, as of 2024, a total of 143,301 dengue cases have been reported (including 24,299 confirmed and 20,083 probable cases) and 116 deaths in 15 African Union Member States.
