Health authorities in Burkina Faso have reported 1,719 cases of dengue since August 9 (1,369 suspected cases and 350 probable cases) and 3 deaths (CFR 0.2%) across 13 regions of the country, marking a 31% increase since the last update.
So far this year, there have been 35,228 cases (27,523 suspected and 7,705 probable) and 51 deaths (CFR: 0.2%). The central region of the country accounts for 59% of the cases and 40% of the deaths.
The circulating serotypes are DENV1 and DENV3.
This situation is a continuation of the outbreak that began in September 2023.
