Health authorities in Burkina Faso have reported 1,336 new cases of dengue since July 26 (1,062 suspected and 274 probable), and one new death (CFR 0.1%) has been recorded in 13 regions of the country. This figure represents a 27% increase compared to the previous week.
So far this year, 32,201 cases (25,097 suspected and 7,104 probable) and 48 deaths have been reported. The central region of the country accounts for 61% of the cases and 40% of the deaths.
The circulating serotypes are DENV1 (50%) and DENV3 (50%).
The outbreak was declared in the country in September 2023.
