Health authorities in Italy have reported a second autochthonous case of dengue. Both the previous case and the most recent one were reported in August, with one in the municipality of Albinea, Reggio Emilia province, and the latest case in the neighboring province of Brescia, both in northern Italy.
In 2023, Italy recorded 82 locally transmitted dengue cases. In addition to the local cases, as of September 10, 410 travel-associated dengue cases have been reported.
