Brazil’s Ministry of Health reports 6,590,575 probable cases of dengue in the country this year. At least 5,872 deaths from the disease have been confirmed, with an additional 1,136 cases still under investigation. The national incidence rate is 3,245 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The state of São Paulo tops the list in absolute numbers, with 2.1 million probable cases, followed by Minas Gerais (1.6 million), Paraná (653,800), and Santa Catarina (348,500). Regarding incidence rates, the Federal District leads with 9,876 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Minas Gerais (8,233), Paraná (5,713), and São Paulo (4,841).
