Indian health authorities have reported 499 cases of dengue in the Haveri district. Two suspected deaths related to the disease have been reported.
This year, cases in the area have begun earlier than in previous seasons.
The most affected areas of the district are Hangal Taluk (186 cases), Byadagi (90), and Hirekeruru (80).
