Autochthonous Dengue in Italy in 2024

From January 1 to November 19, 2024, Italy’s national surveillance system reported:
685 confirmed cases of dengue, including 472 travel-associated cases and 213 autochthonous cases, with an average age of 45 years. Fifty percent of the cases are men, and no fatalities have been reported.

The affected regions are:

  • Emilia-Romagna (36 cases)
  • Lombardy (12 cases)
  • Marche (146 cases)
  • Tuscany (2 cases)
  • Veneto (1 case)
  • Abruzzo (15 cases)
    Additionally, one case was reported without a specified location of infection.
