Florida health authorities reported two additional locally acquired dengue cases during the week ending January 4th, in Hillsborough and Pasco counties in the central-western part of the state.
This brings the total number of locally acquired cases reported for 2024 to 87 across 10 counties: Broward (2), Hillsborough (7), Manatee (8), Miami-Dade (47), Monroe (3), Orange (2), Palm Beach (3), Pasco (13), Polk, and Sarasota (1 each).
In addition to locally acquired cases, authorities report 33 additional travel-related dengue cases, bringing the total to 944.
